The Configuring GNML section is aimed to the formats/styles designers, or anyone who wants to learn the GNML language and how to create and edit GNML formats, style libraries and styles/tags.
This section is not for users who edit and format text, apply formats and styles on text. This is explained in the Formatting Text chapter. Users who only edit raw text do not require any training about text formatting.
The reader's prerequisites are:
•Familiarity with basic typographical concepts, such as measurement systems, point size, type styles, fonts, font variations and families, font encoding, baselines, alignment, horizontal and vertical justification, kerning and tracking, line and paragraph breaks, and similar.
•Familiarity with newspaper formatting styles and organizing.
•Clear ideas about the way the text formatting is going to be implemented in the publication.
