Headline formats for single-style headlines typically contain no styles / tags. They are recommended for single element headlines, e.g. containing only main headline (no strap, no subhead). Note: alternatively, you can split your headlines in three separate types: strap, head, subhead, and then use a separate format for each element.

Steps to create a series of five headline formats (24, 36, 48, 54 and 60 points) with no tags:

.Run EdAdmin4, expand Configuration, and then click Edit Styles and formats.
.In Title, select the publication you want to create format for.
.Click New, and then in Name, enter a suitable name, e.g. Headline 24.
.Under Defaults, click Character, and then in Font, select the font name, and in Size, enter the desired size in points, e.g. 24pt. Click OK.
.Under Defaults, click Paragraph, and then under Leadings, in Leading enter the desired leading, e.g. 24pt.
.In Paragraph alignment, select what you want, also in the Last line alignment.
.Clear Hyphenation, and select Use with end line. Click OK.
.Under Defaults, click XML, and then enter <head>#T</head>. Click OK.
.In the Edit format dialog box, under Available style libraries, double-click J library. It will appear then in the Used style libraries list.
.Click OK to save the format.

Steps to duplicate and modify variations of the format:

.Select the format Headline 24, and then click Copy. Enter Headline 36. Click OK, and then click Edit.
.Repeat steps 4 and 5, replacing the existing values with 36.
.Repeat steps 11 and 12, entering Headline 48, Headline 54, Headline 60.
