On the File menu, point to Send, and then do one of the following:

•To send to a folder of your choice: click Send To, and then select Folder.

•To send to the next folder: click Send On.

•To send to the previous folder: click Send Back.

•To send to a previous sender: click Send History, and then select a folder.

Note: when you send an article to another folder, typically, all its elements are sent to the same folder. This, however, depends on the script: it would be also possible to send only the article, leaving the elements where they are.

Generally speaking, reporters may work with body elements of an article, while editors and production staff work with all elements of articles (body, head, images, multimedia and similar).

A copy flow in a story-driven organization can look like this one:

1.Reporter creates an article containing only a body element, and writes it.
2.Reporter sends the article to the Pool folder of his desk.
3.Copy editor ads the headline element to the article, and optionally one or more images.
4.If required, copy editor sends the body element back to the reporter, to be improved.
5.Copy editor sends the article to the make-up.
6.The article gets paginated, and images cropped/resized.
7.The article is sent to subs, to edit to fit.
8.When subs are done, the article is send back to page.

Ted4's menus and keyboard shortcuts for reporters may be set to handle only body text, while the ones for editors will contain the functions related to all elements of an article.

Description

sendon

Denotes a 'send on' destination, i.e. the next folder in the copy flow.

sendback

Denotes a 'send back' destination, i.e. the previous folder in the copy flow.

sendto_icon

Denotes a 'send to' destination, i.e. any folder from the list of folders where you have the place in permission (See PlaceIn in Objects access permissions).

sendhistory_icon

Denotes a "send history" (or "send to previous"), i.e. any folder from the list of folders where the item was already sent.

In Browser

1.On the Browse or Search tab, select one or more items.

2.On the menu, click Move.

3.Click the icon_folder icon to select the new folder for the content, according to your privileges.

4.Click OK to send the content.
