For a paragraph:

On the paragraph level you can only turn the hyphenation on or off.

Click in the paragraph, and then on the Gen tab of the Paragraph palette, clear or select, Hyphenation.

All other hyphenation options are defined on the level of the assigned format, and they are common for entire text.

For the selected block:

1.Select the text block you want to hyphenate in another language. _important Important: ensure to select also the trailing space after the last word, otherwise, the last word will be hyphenated in the default language.
2.On the Type menu, point to Character, and then click Characters Palette.
3.On the H&M tab, in the Hyp.rules, select another language, and then click OK.
