Controlling row types

GN4 supports four row types: First, Last, Even and Odd. First row controls the table header, last row controls the table footer (or the row for totals), and there are optionally even and odd rows too.

It is important to understand that in simple tables, you have to use only settings for Odd rows, and skip settings for first, last and even rows: settings for odd rows cover entire table, if you didn't specify settings for other row types. Similarly, avoid the set values for first and last rows, if you don't need them to be different from other rows.

Odd section only

All rows in a table will be the formatted in the same way. This covers horizontal rules, margins, fill and vertical justification

Odd and Even sections only

There might be difference between odd and even rows (if you set different fill, for instance). The first row will look as odd rows, and last row format is calculated automatically, depending whether it is an odd row or an even row.

Odd section and First section

There might be difference between first row and other rows (if you set different fill, for instance). All inner rows will look the same.

Odd section and Last section

There might be difference between last row and other rows (if you set different fill, for instance). All inner rows will look the same.

Odd section, First section, Last section

There might be difference between first row, last row and other rows (if you set different fill, for instance). All inner rows will look the same.

Odd section, Even section, First section, Last section

This is suitable for tables where header, footer and inner rows are all different, and also inner rows are interleaved.

The control over mentioned row types is performed by check-boxes in the create and in the edit dialog. Use them to set the scope of formatting.

Have in mind that these check-boxes exist under Rules subsection, Margins and Fill subsection, and Justification subsection. If you deselect one or more check boxes in one section, you have to do the same in other sections too.
