1.Start text editing, and then highlight the part of text you want to paint in the quick color.

2.On the Text Color/Effects palette, double-click a color in the palette.

3.In the Color Definition dialog box, on the CMYK tab, select the CMYK components for the color, and the value, or on the RGB tab, select RGB components.

4.Click OK.
The color is automatically named as "#" followed by component values, and it appears in the list of colors of the selected palette.

5.Apply the color immediately.

_caution Should you move the cursor without applying the color, the color is not stored.

_noteNote

When you add more quick colors in the same text, only one of them can be listed at a time, and that is the color applied on the current part of the text. As soon as your cursor moves away, on another part of the text, not painted by that quick color, it disappears from the list.

If the quick color was already used in the current text, but it's not on the list anymore, you have two choices: to create it again, with the same values, or to click on the position in the text which is painted by that quick color, that will bring it into the list.
