To merge content from another article on the Articles main tab
1. | Open an article (a target article) on the Articles main tab. |
2. | Do one of the following: |
•Drag an article from Navigator over the tree of an already opened article.
•On the File menu, point to Merge, and then click Merge content. Select an article to be merged into the current one, and click OK. Confirm when prompted.
To merge content from another article on the Pages main tab
1. | Open a page on the Pages main tab, and then select at least one frame of a paginated article (a target article). |
2. | Drag an article from Navigator over the paginated article and then, when prompted, select Merge Content of Two Articles. |
About audit of merging action
For the article that you dragged over existing article, the merge action is marked as Copy to, and it includes the ID of the target article and its name:
The same info is available also in the Details directory style of the article as the D marker (blue rectangle). Hovering over, you see all the instances where the articles was copied to:
On the target article, the merge action is marked as a generic Auto-update action:
Notes
•Merging of content is performed only if source and target element types match. The first source element of a type is appended into the first target element of the same type, the second into the second, etc.
•Merge won't merge article attributes.
