Notes

As styles are all custom, the names of appropriate styles on your system can be any, or they also may not exist.

When you choose a style, Fred4 applies a predefined baseline shift value and a predefined type size to the selected text. The values applied are percentages of the current font size and leading, and are based on the style settings. Default vertical offset for superscript is 30% of the type size, and the character size is 66%. Default vertical offset for superscript is 10% of the type size, and the character size is 66%. This values can be changes in the library of styles that contain mentioned styles. Typically, it is a J library, and typically, the tag names are up and dn.

To create character styles (if you do not have them), in a sample text, enter the following tags

For superscript

>sav<>up<abc

For subscript

>sav<>dn<abc

Place the cursor after abc and then on the Type menu, point to Character, and then click Update/Create Character style from Selection. Select the J library, enter the suitable name for tag (as short as possible, e.g. subsc or similar), the style name, e.g. Subscript, and then in XML output select the suitable XML tag for exporting of such text on Web.

Click OK to save the style.

Repeat the above once for subscript and another time for superscript.
