Prevent hyphenation in a word

1.Click in the word where you want to prevent a hyphenation.

2.On the Type menu, point to Insert Special Character, point to Hyphens and Dashes, and then click Discretionary Hyphen, or press CTRL+minus key.

Note

A non breaking hyphen is used to prevent a hyphenated word, number, or phrase from breaking if it falls at the end of a line. For example, you can prevent "e-mail" or "555-0123" from breaking; the entire hyphenated item is moved to the beginning of the next line. The same sign is used for the discretionary (optional) and the non breaking hyphen.

The above procedure will function only if the hyphen character (-) is not inserted in the Breakable chars box, in the Globals section of the current format (see Select hyphenation option for format).
