Editing of table structure when tags are displayed is similar to text editing, with the following differences:
•If tags are not displayed, you cannot delete the table structure, ie. special characters such as | and ». To be able to delete them, display tags and then select and delete.
•When the tags are not displayed, you can use the TAB key to move to the next column, and the SHIFT+TAB key to move back.
•When the tags are displayed, Don't use the Tab key to move to the next column - use the right arrow key instead. Tab key typically adds the new column, and SHIFT+Tab starts a new row.
Note
In very long tables, editing may be slow. You can speed it up by switching to Ted4, closing WYSIWYG pane and turning off the automatic justification of text. This trick is not available in Fred as the text is always justified on pages even if you are editing it in the source pane. Therefore, for the long and slow tables you may prefer to use the source pane of Ted.
