To enable special effects on a frame with text (linked or local)
1.Select the Graphic text frame check-box on the Miscellaneous palette.
2.Using the Area/Image colors palette, optionally apply color and gradient to the frame (container).
3.Right-click the frame, and then click Select Content.
The handles turn into hollow to warn you that you switched to the content selection mode.
4.Using the Area/Image colors palette, optionally apply color and gradient to text.
5.Using the Drop shadow palette, optionally apply drop shadow to text.
The text is still editable - it is not converted to outlines. The special effects are not visible in Ted4, but only in Fred4.
Notes
•The above procedure is suitable for small amount of large type, typically for headlines. If you apply it on long text in a small type, it may be rather slow.
•If you click the Content/graphic selection icon in the Toolbox on a frame that is not a graphic text frame, it becomes a graphic text frame and the selection goes to Content.
