To apply character style on selected text:

1.Select the characters to which you want to apply the style.

2.Click the Character Style box in the toolbar and then do one of the following:

•To apply a character style: select the paragraph style name from the drop-down list.
If the style is a variable style, a dialog box is displayed. Enter the values you want and then press 8.

•To remove a character style from text: select the empty entry.

To select character style and start to write:

Click the Character Style box in the toolbar, and then click a character style or type its name. Now, start to write: the text is formatted according to the character style.

Undoing style apply

To undo the style you applied and to return to the previous style, press CTRL+Z.

About removing styles

You can prevent deleting of styles in the source editing window with hidden markup or in the WYSIWYG window. This includes also preventing of deletion of end of paragraphs and bells. This is useful when editing headlines. See Protecting tags against deleting.
