Frequency	•For servers: daily, before the production starts •For clients: weekly or monthly

Where	Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer
Time required	5 minutes x computer
Description

Backing-up event log

Applies to	All servers
Frequency	Weekly
Tool	Event Viewer of Microsoft Windows
Where	Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer
Time required	+20 minutes
Description	Export events logs to files, and store appropriately named backup files on a safe place.

Notes

•Event logs usually get overwritten as needed. History of event logs may help you to find out if a problem happened before.

•Pay special attention to the messages marked as errors and warnings . Do not underestimate errors and warnings, even if it looks like they caused no problems to your system..

•If there are errors or warnings, make sure you understand why such messages occurred before you attempt to solve the problem.
