In versions 2.3 or newer
These options are moved out of the personal preferences, and should be set on the Typography level, in EdAdmin4
In version 2.2 or earlier
It is recommended, on the first access to the Pages main tab in Fred4, to set the tolerance for the automatic update of images on page refresh and on page opening.
This will ensure that your page contains always the most up-to-date version of graphic content on read-write and read-only layers.
The default value is: 0
The recommended value is: 5
To set the tolerance for the update of images
1.On the Edit menu of the Pages main tab while not editing text, click Preferences.
2.On the Main tab, in Tolerance, enter a value different than 0. This is the resizing that Fred4 may apply on dummy images, or images to be updated, if their dimensions are different of the dimensions of dummy or existing updated image. Note: 0 is not a suitable value.
3.Decide whether you want the resize to be isotropic or not by ticking or clearing the Isotropic box.
4.Tick % Referred to image size if you want the check of image dimensions to be applied on the previous crop size and not on the bounding box size. This prevents losing the scaling and crop position when updating an existing image that has been reprocessed when its width or height differ slightly from the existing one.
5.Click OK to save the preference.
About saving preferences in database
When you click OK, the preferences are updated in the memory and applied right-on. GN4 will store the preference in the database when you exit application. Anyway, should your GN4 crash or exit in any other abnormal way, the preference will not be stored in database, and you will have to repeat the previously described steps.
This preference is stored in the Editorial_SystemUserConfig for the securityRef corresponding to the user name. To display that configuration, open EdAdmin4, click Client Applications, expand the search pane in the left sidebar, in the Name enter editorial, and in the securityRef select the name of the user. Double-click the Editorial_SystemUserConfig to open the content. Locate the preference by name.
