Actually, there's no way to stop a long search, but since all the searches are paginated (appear in chunks), no search should ever take long enough for you to wish to stop it.

Should a search take unexpectedly long time, check the status of the Exalead server (if you are searching full-text), or the SQL server (in all other search cases), and/or your connection with the system.
