Reload configuration

When the IT or the support staff changes the system configuration, the logged users won't see those changes unless they exit their GN4 applications and restart them.

However, the first thing to try is to reload the configuration, and only if that doesn't work, restart the application.

To reload configuration

1.Save your work.

2.On the Help menu, click Reload Configuration.

Notes

In Ted4 and Fred4, the content in editing (pages, articles) will be automatically closed (prompting you to save unsaved changes, if any), and it won't be reopened automatically - you need to do it manually.

Reload configuration won't work for all the configuration changes. It works for changes in folders permissions, directory styles, search panes etc. It doesn't work for refreshes in typography permissions.

If the reload configuration doesn't refresh what you expected, the only other way is to restart the software.
