Permissions on global saved searches

If you are not an Administrator, you need to enable permissions to store saved searches as global for groups or users who are supposed to store such global saved searches.

The permissions are to be set on the SavedSearch configuration scope, in the Access Permissions list. Add a group or user and then set the permissions.

Click to toggle graphic size

To grant permissions on global saved searches

1.In EdAdmin4, under Security, click Config scopes.

2.Double-click SavedSearch.

3.Give to Everyone the same permissions as are given to administrators. This will allow users to add, rename, and delete the global saved searches.

Note

Generally, it is not a good idea to enable full permissions on the global searches, as users can reference the global saved searches by the search icons in the toolbars. The search icons assignments are personal, and by a saved search name. So if an user assigns a global saved search named "XYZ" to the one of its icons, and another user renames it to "ABC", the icon will stop to work for the first user, as the name was changed globally, but not updated on the personal icon assignment.
