Use the Paragraph Stretch and Shrink palette (short: St/Sh) allows you to identify or change the following properties of the current paragraph or of all the highlighted paragraphs:

Scope: Scope of the change: if you select local, then the change will not affect parts of the paragraph expliticly sized othewise; if you select ALL, all parts will be proportionally modified.

Track /stretch: Characters tracking amount. Positive values track tight, negative track loose. If you enter, for example, 12, it will move all characters closer one to each other for 0.12pt.

Word space: Variation of the spaceband. Values smaller than 1000 reduce the space between words, and values greater than 1000 increase it.

Char base: Variation of the character width (horizontal scale). Values smaller than 1000 reduce the width, and values greater than 1000 increase it. Example: 900 means 90% of current base.

Char size: Variation of the type size. Values smaller than 1000 reduce the size, and values greater than 1000 increase it. Example: 900 means 90% of current type size.
