The new Link Assistant make seamless and simple to locate articles for the shapes on the page you are working on. It expects that the page has the section folder, and will list the suitable articles in the folder. Run the link assistant by holding CTRL while clicking the shape with the middle button. Configure the filters of the Link Assistant bu holding CTRL+ALT while clicking the middle button. It requires the LinkAssist search pane and directory style in the EditorialPages im Shell4_Config, you can copy from the standard configuration. |

It was not possible to open a page in which the current user had no permissions on some of the articles in page. Now it is possible to open the page but the current user need to have at least view permissions on the article and its texts (for users that cannot see the articles and texts completely the page cannot still be opne as before). For users not having "content" permissions the texts will not be displayed in page and it will not possible to modify their geometry. The user that can't view the article must have only the RefRead: Normal-Protected-Special permission on the folder where the texts reside- in this way the user can't open, view or change article's geometry . but can open the page where the article is linked. |

Images can now be set translucent even if the original imported image is opaque. Use the Opacity Panel to enable the creation of the alpha channel and to set the opacity level (100=opaque,...,0=invisible). All images format are supported except: EPS, PDF, PS and monochrome images |

Fred handles the custom list of copyright ids in EditorialConfig to prevent drop of images on page. The item is glbCopyrights, by default empty. To add items, add the line <Item Name="glbCopyrights" Value="123,456,789" /> where numbers are ids of restricted copyrights. This affects OnDropImage in page.vb. |

Implemented new transparent soft shadow management in Fred4 viewer and PDF print. No more spikes with complex shapes, full blur accuracy (no more "slices" effect) from color to color (even transparent). Blur quality can be defined from client into edit preferences or by print preset: it use the Color Image Resolution as quality reference. CTRL+right-click on the selected shapes now executes a smart action. There are four cases: 1/ You selected all shapes of a linked article, it offers you to copy/duplicate "article as content" (which means on the same page you will have two identical articles), or "articles as shapes" (which means you will have a copy of the article layout with image placeholders instead of images). 2/ You selected just some shapes of a linked article, it adds them to the current article, 3/ You selected an unlinked article layout, with all its shapes, it will create a duplicate as a new logical group. 4/ You selected only parts of an unlinked article layout, it adds new shapes to the same logical group. This functionality is enabled by default. |
