GN4 supports two column/module related units: ncol, for column width and nmod, for module height.
The column width, module height, column gutter and module gutter are retrieved from the title default geometry. When you use ncol and nmod in text tags, these are relative to the text title default geometry. Even if a text is opened on a Fred4 page with a master geometry different from the default one the default geometry is used for measurement.
ncol
It stands for number of columns with smart handling of column gutter. 1ncol is equivalent to the width of one column, 2ncol is equal to the width of two columns PLUS one column gutter, 5ncol is equal to the width of five columns PLUS four column gutters and so on.
nmod
It stands for number of modules with smart handling of module gutter. 1nmod is equivalent to the height of one module, 2nmod is equal to the height of two modules PLUS one module gutter.
Note
The ncol and nmod units are not available to be selected as default units in palettes, but you can enter them as the values.
