Another creative layout with plenty of pictures. Some highlights:
Notes
•The black background is on the master page, yet the guides show in front, helping you to align objects. You can hide the guides when not needed – Fred continues to offer you the snapping even if the guides are not displayed, unless you disable the snap.
•The pictures can be numbered either manually, or (through a customizable script) also automatically – when the numbering should follow the order in which pictures are placed on the \page.
•The style for the numbered photo captions is created on the fly and stored in a common style library (not with the document itself, but in the main database) – to be available later for an easy reuse.
•You can easily add the side rules, by selecting one or more objects and then just pressing Al+L (left side), ALT+A (above), ALT+B (below) and so on. With further automation based on naming conventions of master (by adding to the master name a coded string with weigt/color,tint/dash), Fred applies the rules and boxes with the appropriate color and dash.
On-the-fly rough clipping path
You can simply create an on-the-fly clipping path for a picture that has not got one already in Photoshop. Create such path by the polygon tool, dragging the shape nodes where you want.
On the left, the page with guides displayed; on the right, the page preview with guides hidden.
You can use Photoshop, directly from Fred, on a selected picture, for any sort of transformation, based on Photoshop actions (that you’ve created, or just downloaded from Internet) e.g adding borders to pictures, creative bending and similar:
