The automated page make-up will be successful if applied on the suitable pages. To understand which pages the software can make-up automatically, you need to analyze a target editions in details, looking at every page and trying to understand if its layout can be considered as "predictable" and "repeatable", or it is an "ad-hoc" page layout. The page layouts that are considered "predictable" and "repeatable" are suitable for the automated page make-up, while the "ad-hoc" pages aren't.
Examples of "suitable" pages
The following pages can be considered as a "suitable", as long the number of articles on the editorial layer is known and predictable and as long the space, left after the ads are placed on page, is predictable.
This is a typical "horizontal split" page, where the space is divided horizontally between ads and editorial. |

This is a typical "corner ad" page, where the editorial space is not rectangular. |

"Unsuitable" pages
This page is considered as unpredictable, as the clipping path will be different on every image, and the text also seems to be "one-time-design". |
This page is considered as unpredictable, as the clipping path will be different on every image. |
These pages are considered as unpredictable, as they contain two tiled images and it is not possible to predict the widths. If there will be one image composed of two, the pages become predictable. |
