This chapter helps you to become familiar with the structure of xxx_TabItems.xml files, and to learn how to modify them.

A xxx_TabItems.xml file can actually be Ted4_TabItems.xml, Fred4_TabItems.xml, SHELL4_TabItems.xml, EDADMIN4_TabItems.xml, ADMIN4TabItems.xml.

xxx_TabItems.xml files provide configuration for main menu with drop-down menus, context menus (right-click and others), toolbars, keyboard and mouse shortcuts, main tabs definitions, navigators and splitters.

All the content of the file is enclosed within the GN4ShellConfiguration node. The node contains:

•Namespaces: definitions

•TabItemList: main tabs definitions, navigators and splitters

•GN4ShellMenus: main menu with drop-down menus, context menus, toolbars, keyboard and mouse shortcuts

The XXX_TABITEMS.XML files are closely connected with the xxx_Config.xml files, by referencing base queries and search fields.
