You can configure GN4 on the following levels: system, typography, title and personal.

Configuring on the system level

All the configuring on the system level generally applies to all the users of all the titles in a GN4 system. For example, the "new article" dialog box or the "List" directory style, appear the same to all the users. Moreover, workflows and scripts work in the same way for all the users.

There are some exceptions, related to the menus: as you may set permissions on menu items, some users may have different menus of other users, but the menus definition is still the same for all users.

Configuring on the typography level

Configuring on the typography level generally applies to all the users of all titles that share the given typography in a GN4 system. For example, the list of fonts and formats is typography-specific.

Configuring on the title level

Configuring on the title level generally applies to all the users of the give titles. For example, the list of permissions can be set on the level of the title.

Configuring on the personal level

Configuring on the personal level generally applies to a given user in a GN4 system. For example, the size, color and typeface of text displayed on the source pane or the list of saved searches may be different for each user.
