BASESTRINGS.xx

English user-interface strings for the base object types and their attributes(declared in GN4Base.xsd and  GN4Fixed.xsd)

Strings corresponding to schema elements (object types, attributes and enumerations)

Translations are not associated with English but with no language. In this way they act as a global default - so that if there is no translation for the  specific UI language the English translation is used instead than the underlying string (so you get 'Security scope' instead than 'securityScope' etc.)

EDITORIALSTRINGS.xx

English user-interface strings for the Tera object types and their attributes (declared in GN4Editorial.xsd)

GN4STRINGS.xx

Default (English) user-interface strings for the GN4 default schema object types, their  attributes and user-interface elements (declared in GN4.xsd and associated configuration files)

ARCHIVESTRINGS.xx

This file contains strings corresponding to schema elements (object types, attributes and enumerations) defined in GN4Archive.xsd (i.e. common to installations Tark4, GN4, ...)
