A search pane on the navigator can appear as "single" or "multiple".

A multiple pane has a selector, typically in the top right corner. On the following screenshot, the Articles navigator has a selector with two search panes: Basic and Advanced.

Click the selector, and select the pane you want.

Notes

Typically, the difference between Basic and Advanced pane is that on the Advanced pane you can select search options, while they're hard-coded and hidden on the Basic pane.

The number, names and order of fields on each search pane are configurable. See Predefine search option.

The number of search panes for each navigator is configurable. See Add multi-pane selector.

The "multiple" panes are independent, thus, if you entered some search criteria, and then you switch to another pane, it will be empty. Moreover, when you return to the first pane, it will be empty as well, as switching wipes out the entered search criteria
