When starting a GN4 installation on a customer site, request the license and start to work immediately with a limited license (one Ted4 and one Fred4). Such license can be used in emergency situations when all licenses were removed or suddenly expired, to be able to login to the system and restore functionalities.

The limited license is activated automatically and ready-for-use right on.

Use srv4 to generate such request.

To request a new limited license

In the Command prompt window on an installed GN4 server, connected to Internet, switch to the folder where srv4 resides and then execute:

srv4 license -url http://licenses.teradp.com -name "<Customer description>"

Replace <Customer description> with the real description. You can define name also as:

"[DomainName]:[MachineName]:[DatabaseName]"

Note: specify the url and name options only the very first time you use command.

Recycle the application pool.
