Quick chart for formatting of characters and paragraphs

To format characters select text, select the formatting option in the Text palette and then click the button, or press 8.

Or, click to place the insertion point in text, select a formatting option in the Text palette, and then click the button, or press 8. Begin typing.

To format current paragraph, you don’t need to select all text in the paragraph: place the insertion point anywhere in a paragraph. To format more paragraphs, select text in a range of paragraphs. Select the formatting option in the Paragraph palette and then click the button, or press 8.

Press CTRL+T, or on the Type menu, click Compact Control Palette.

Note: the differences between the Compact Control palette and the Text or Paragraph palette is that the Compact Control palette contains some parts of both: Fonts ad C&E of Text palette, Gen, V.Just, L.Fill, DC and A.Fill of Paragraph palette.
