Customize the appSettings.xml to set the Root data directory.

DB.RootVolumeUrl value

•For the root volume name, if it's on your local machine, assuming volumes is the name of a share and the static IP is 192.168.1.100, put file://192.168.1.100/volumes; if the IP is dynamic and the server name is CALISTO and volumes is the name of a share, put file://CALISTO/volumes.

Important

If you edit APPSETTINGS.XML any time later on an already installed GN4 system, remember to close Ted4, Fred4 and browser and then recycle the application pool to apply changes.
