Importing XML files to GN4 database

After you adjusted objects exported by GN3Export, you can import them in a GN4 database by means of cmd4 or srv4.

The importing order is important!

The first objects to import on GN4 are JustScope, after this Title objects, and then media, layerType, zone, section, region, workstate etc.

To import images is it necessary to run srv4/cmd4 import from a machine where the image paths are visible.

If library objects contain images, images must be imported before library objects. Find out in which folders are stored images in library objects, and then import images from these folders before importing library objects themselves.

When importing editions, use this order:

edition_x.xml

edition_x.img.xml

edition_x.article.xml

edition_x.master.xml

edition_x.pageLayer.xml

edition_x.txtGeometry.xml

edition_x.page.xml

Example:

srv4 import -in c:\GN4.xml

For a better procedure, see Import script in Helper scripts.
