You can display text formatting dockable palettes on the right sidebar (default), or as floating on screen.
To display floating palettes, on the Type menu, do one of the following: •For the common control palette, click Compact Control Palette, or press CTRL+T. Seven palettes, some for character, some for paragraph, appear in a common container. The shown palettes are defined in the ToggleTextControlPalette script. •For the character palette, on the Type menu, point to Character and then click Characters Palette, or press SHIFT+ALT+T. Four palettes appear in a common container. •For the paragraph palette, on the Type menu, point to Paragraph and then click Paragraph Palette, or press CTRL+M. Seven paragraph-level palettes appear in a common container. |
To float a docked palette, right click the name bar to display the pop-up menu, and then select Float or Float new. •Float puts the palette in an existing floating container, it there's such container on screen. Example: you have the floating container with Measurement and Drop shadow palette, and you want to add to it the Opacity palette. Right-click the name bar of the Opacity palette and select Float. •Float new will put the palette in the own container, even if there's already another floating container. When palettes are stacked in a container, right-click the container title bar and then select Change display mode. |
Additional possibilities is to display palettes on the top bar ( a horizontal zone where the standard toolbars are also displayed), on the bottom bar, or below the toolbar on the left side of the screen. This is not recommended, as the palettes height is not uniform, and will require additional space. |
