Session expired
Should your network connection interrupt, and then recover with another IP, your session with Fred4, Ted4 or Edadmin can be interrupted with the below message:
Session expired (trying to access session data from a different client location).
Session IP: '10.10.xxx.xxx' - Requesting IP: '10.10.xxx.xxx' - URL: 'http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/www' (ERR1403)
At this point, you will loose all unsaved work. Restart GN4.
Another reason for such error is that the computer's IP changed because of too short DHCP lease, or a missing IP reservation, and in the version 2.1 or newer the IP changing box on the Permissions tab of a groups in EdAdmin4 is not ticked.
Tick the IP changing box on the Permissions tab of a groups in EdAdmin4. |
It is recommended to set a longer lease, or even better to provide for an IP reservation for the GN4 users. The security mechanism kicks out GN4 users connecting within the same session from a different IP address. When this happens, users need to close and reopen GN4. |
Network interruption
When server closes the connection while you are still working, because of a server reboot or for any other reason, you may get this message:
Unable to connect to the server at http://main.teradp.com/GN4;
error: 'The underlying connection was closed:
A connection that was expected to be kept alive was closed by the server.' (ERR1101)
At this point, you will loose all unsaved work. Restart GN4.
