On the Pages main tab in Fred4

There are two color palettes: Area/Image colors (fill color palette) and Rules & Dashes (stroke color palette). Use the Area/image colors palette to apply fill color, and the Rule & Dash palette to apply stroke color. Both palettes use the same color set.

Color palettes are usually displayed either in the sidebar or as tabs of a Control palette, and the position of the Control palette is stored within a desktop. To display palettes, on the Window menu, point to Palettes and then click the palette name.

Details are available in Area/Image colors palette and Rules & dashes palette in Page editing palettes.

It is possible to limit this functionality, by dropping the command that activates the color palettes from the menu of the users/groups that should not have access to this function. If you can select a color, you can also select a shade of that color.

For more details, see Page editing palettes.
