clientSpec and clientTemplate

A clientSpec object describes a client computer, and is associated with a clientTemplate object that defines some general rules which are shared by multiple client computers, (typically associated with the operating system used by these computers).

A clientTemplate object contains a list of object types, and for each one specifies which ‘data’ to get, how to compose the file name, and how to update the object from the modified data. The combination of all this is called a rule.

clientTemplate and clientSpec are managed using the EdAdmin4 (Client Specifications and Client Templates), or Administrative Browser (Clients listing).
