Backup and check prior to upgrading database

.Make a backup on a safe place of all GN4 related directories on the server, namely ..\Tera\GN4\web, ...\Tera\GN4\bin, ...\Tera\GN4\Com etc.

.Make a backup of the GN4 database.

.Make sure that the GN4 license is not expired or about to expire. Otherwise, perform the renew procedure, contacting Tera support that will renew the license and then in the command prompt window, opened on the bin folder, execute srv4 license and then recycle the application pool.

.Make sure that your Editorial_UpdateConfig.xml is up-to-date with changes applied by Tera. The best is to check with the support desk. New files can be added, some files may not be used anymore, or can be renamed. Example: in September 2011 some file names are changed, thus, we updated the file, but of course, we cannot update your copy. Note: if you run the Upgrade database step and some files can't be found, it will stop and list all the missing files, then you'll know which files are renamed.
