Auto Checkout

The Auto Checkout option checks-out an item to be edited if it is selected with the text tool.

This is on by default.

When Auto Checkout is on, it will check-in the items when the document is closed.

When Auto Checkout is on, you are editing an item and select to check it in, InDesign will re-check out the item.

To toggle Auto CheckOut on/off

On the Plug-Ins menu, point to GN4 and then click Auto Checkout.

Recommended setting

If the normal workflow doesn't include a heavy multi-using of the articles on a page, keep Auto CheckOut ticked, as it makes faster to start editing a text. Have in mind, however, that when you stop to edit the article, it remains checked out by you.

If the normal workflow includes a heavy multi-using of the articles on a page, keep Auto CheckOut unticked, as it avoids that when you stop to edit the article, it remains checked out by you.
