GN4 provides a system to estimate the length of a text to fill a given series of linked or unlinked text frames.

This system produces an estimate of the length in terms of a unit - that can be the number of words, or of characters, or of 'standard lines', depending on the configuration.

On the Pages main tab in Fred4, while a page is opened, estimate value can be displayed for all articles on a page, for the currently selected article element, or for selected unlinked frames.

Estimate values do not take into account the current text format, but only the configured estimated values. Therefore, use them only on body frames/elements.
