GN4 is available for download as a released version, update or as daily build.

Released version

Tera releases a new GN4 version once or twice in a year. A new version contains all new or improved features and bug fixes, issued between two versions.

A new version has a major or minor version number increased. E.g. the 2.0.2046.1 is the current version, and the next version will be 2.1.xxxx.x.

You can download a released GN4 version from the Tera download page. The current version is 2.5.3453.9.

On a production site, install a released GN4 version, as it is tested and supposedly contains no bugs.

Patch

Tera releases a new GN4 update rather often, once in a month or more frequently. A update contains bug fixes for the given version, and only very seldom the changes of existing features or new features.

A new update has the last number increased, e.g. the 2.0.2046.1 is the first update, and the next update will be 2.0.xxxx.2.

Daily build

Every night (Italian time), the GN4 gets automatically recompiled, and all the submitted bug fixes and/or new or improved features, included in a daily build.

There are several daily builds available:

•Daily build of a released version includes only the related bug fixes, but no new or improved features. It is a "next update" candidate. You can download a daily build of a released version from the Tera FTP server in Milan, typically from a folder named as 'relX', e.g. for the version 2.0, it is rel20 folder.
Do not install daily builds on a production site, unless confirmed by the GN4 support staff.

•(Main) daily build of the forthcoming version includes the bug fixes and new or improved features. You can download a main daily build from the Tera FTP server in Milan, from a folder named as main.
It is not recommended to install a main daily build on a production site, as it may contain incomplete new features, and accidentally introduced new bugs.
Install a main daily build on a test server, to taste new or improved features.

A new build has a third number increased. E.g. the 2.0.2052.1 is the first update daily of January, 13, and the daily of the January, 15 will be 2.0.2053.1.
