It is important to distinguish between page size (as defined on the associated master page) and media size (the paper sheet, film, or the printing plate area). Your page size might be tabloid, but you might need to print on a larger piece of paper or film to accommodate any printer’s marks.
The list of available paper sizes available comes from the PPD (PostScript printer description file). If the PPD you’ve chosen for PostScript printing support custom paper sizes, you’ll see a Custom option in the Paper Size menu.
Most imagesetters can accommodate regular paper sizes, such as tabloid, as well as transverse orientation, where the regular page size is rotated 90° when printed. The transverse orientation is often a more efficient use of imagesetter media.
To select media size
1.Open the print dialog as explained in Opening the print dialog box, and then select a configuration.
2.In the Preset list, select one of predefined page formats, or select User Defined, to specify a custom media size. If you selected custom paper size, then in W and H, enter appropriate page dimensions, and then select the orientation.
