With the polygon tool , click to select one or more vertices of the image and drag them inside of the image.

If you use arrow keys to move vertices, the cropping will be regular, ie. the cropping mask will be rectangular.

When using mouse, it may happen that dragged vertices snap to the closest guide, and that can distort the cropping mask.
