To create a standard polygon

Right-click the Box tool fred_boxico, and then from the menu, select the Concave tool fredico_concavetool, Romb tool fredico_rombtool, or Triangle tools fredico_triangle_uptool and fredico_triangle_dntool.

Drag in the page window to create the path or frame.

To draw a freeform polygon

1.Hold SHIFT while clicking the Box tool fred_boxico, and then from the menu, select the Closed path tool fredico_closedpathtool. The pointer changes to fredico_pathtool.

2.Click where you want to start the polygon. Then, click where you want next node (angle) to be.

Note: The first segment you draw will not be visible until you click a second point.

3.If you make a mistake, press Delete to remove the last point.

4.Double-click or press Enter on the last-but-one node: The last segment is automatically generated and polygon is closed.

If you press the Esc key, the drawing is aborted.

The path must not cross itself, there should be no two coincident points, and there should exist at least 3 points for closed paths.

A beep is issued trying to create an invalid shape.

Ensure that the Toolbox is displayed, or on the Window menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Toolbox.

To create polygons by 'cutter'

You may want to create an irregular polygon (box) as the one shown on the following screenshot as Final.

Click to toggle graphic size

Follow these steps:

1.Create a box you want to transform into an irregular polygon, and then create a smaller box that will act as a 'cutter'.

2.Move the cutter above the bigger box so it overlaps. Important: the cutter outer edges need to be either perfectly aligned with the bigger box, or bleeding out.

3.Press ALT+C to perform the cut.

4.Move out the cutter - the bigger box is cut on top.

5.Move the cutter on the bottom edge of the bigger box and make it higher.

6.Press ALT+C to perform the cut.

7.Delete the cutter box. The bigger box is but on the bottom.
