By selecting an article template in the Articles navigator
1.On the Articles navigator on the Articles main tab in Ted4 or in Fred4, select an article template (Note: you may need to select the folder with article templates).
2.On the File menu, click Article by template.
3.In the Save article as dialog box, enter the name and select folder for the new article, according to your privileges. Enter other metadata if required / available.
4.Click OK to store the article in the database and to open it for editing.
By selecting an article template from the list
1.On the Articles main tab in Ted4 or in Fred4, on the File menu, click Article by template.
2.Locate a template in the Select Article dialog box. Note: use the left-side panel to enter name, or select folder or set any other criteria. The results appear in the right-side pane. Select one, and then click Ok.
3.In the Save article as dialog box, enter the name and select folder for the new article, according to your privileges. Enter other metadata if required / available.
4.Click OK to store the article in the database and to open it for editing.
By File menu on the Pages main tab
1.On the File menu on the Pages main tab, point to New, and then click Article by Template.
2.In the Select Article dialog box, select an article with a local geometry. Note: at the current time, no marker shows that an article has a local geometry, so make sure you selected the article templates folder.
3.Click OK, and then, in the New Article dialog box, enter the name of the new article, select the folder and enter other optional data. Click OK.
4.The article opens in a new tab so you can see its content and geometry.
5.Close the article before placing it on a page.
•If there are more different publications in your system, you may want to select the default typography before creating a new article. •Article templates are articles, containing specific empty text elements, formats, optional dummy images and/or also local geometry. You can use such template articles to create a new article as a duplicate of the template. Such article can be later dragged on a Fred4 page as a ready-made block. •It is not possible to preview the article templates. It is recommended to name article templates in the way they are easily recognizable, e.g. 2c1p200w may mean template on 2 columns, with 1 picture, 200 words capacity. |
