If you use the Fit to paper feature, the crop and registration marks are not printed.
In the print configuration we have the paper size which indicates the page size of the PDF output file: This space will be used to place the page that, if not fit or scaled, has the same dimensions defined when you created the edition.
The marks refer to the page of Fred, and the value of "Offset" indicates the distance between the marks from the Fred page. If you set the offset to 0pt, the marks will touch the page, if you set it to 2pt, the distance from the page will be 2 pt.
With this option it is not possible that a marks overlap the Fred page (in fact you could apply a negative offset, but it probably makes no sense).
So if you fit the Fred page to the paper size, there will be no physical space to display the marks.
Examples:
Case 1:
In Fred we have a page with master in A4 format;
In the print configuration we set the page size as A3;
We do not fit and put the marks distance as 5 pt;
On the A3 paper there will be an A4 page surrounded by marks (5 pt distance)
Case 2:
In Fred we have a page with master in A3 format;
In the print configuration we set the page size as A3;
We do not fit and put the marks distance as 5 pt;
The A3 paper is completely filled with the Fred page content, and the marks are not printed because there is no space.
Case 3:
In Fred we have a page with master in A4 format;
In the print configuration we set the page size as A3;
We do fit and put the marks distance as 5 pt;
The A3 paper is completely filled with the Fred page content, and the marks are not printed because there is no space.
A workaround would be to use the "scale" instead of “fit”: so you can zoom in the Fred page leaving enough space for marks.
