In the standard configuration of GN4, Shell is not an independent application, but it is incorporated in Ted4 and Fred4 as Shell main tab.

The functionalities of the Shell main tab in GN4 are very similar, although not identical, to the functionalities of the Shell in GN3.

Note: this chapter does not describe the new features, offered by GN4. Here we concentrate on helping experienced GN3 users to find, in GN4, commands they were used to in GN3.
