About ads and deleting editions

Regarding deleting, ads are managed in the same was as any other content, therefore, spiked when you spike an edition, and purged with other content, unless you apply the steps, described in this topic.

Preserve ads from deleting when editions are deleted

The way to keeps ads alive (with the purpose to keep the recurring ads) is to put them in a folder assigned to the partition with "Extend spike" unticked. In that way, the ads will be just unlinked from the deleted edition, and not deleted themselves.

1.In EdAdmin4, under Security, click Partitions.

2.Create a new partition for ads, naming it any way you want.

3.Do one of the following:

•Assign the expiration rule that is surely longer than any recurring for ads, e.g. 180 days. If there is no such expiration rule, create a new one, as explained in Create an expiration rule.

•Leave the expiration box empty - the ads will never ever be deleted automatically (not recommended - your disks can run out of space).

4.Untick Extend spike.
