To create a variant type

1.Display the variant types as explained in Review variant types, and then, on the Action menu, click New, and then select which new variant type you want to create. The choices are: New variant type audio, document, image, story, video.

2.On the dialog box, in Name, enter an unique name of the new variant type. The name can contain spaces.

3.Click the ico_additems icon to display the Steps row.

4.Make the dialog box as wide as possible to see all the steps:

Click to toggle graphic size

5.Click the Conversion field, to display the list of available conversions, and then select the one you want.

6.Enter data in other fields where required.

Please note that the options displayed are not the conversion-specific. You can select and enter data where you want, but only the conversion-related options will be actually used - all others are ignored. See the Variant types properties topic for the information which fields are used with which conversion

7.Click the [+] icon to add another conversion, if needed. See the notes in Create an image 'crop' variant type if you intend to add more steps to the Crop conversion.

8.Use the up and down arrow buttons to change the order of the defined steps. The order may be important.
