To be able to create a local text in InDesign, use the disable the import functionality on the selected text boxes. Note: the local text will be archived only as a part of the archived page, and not as an individual element.

To create a local text frames in InDesign

1.Select the text frames to hold local text.

2.On the Plug-Ins menu, point to GN4, point to Type, and then select Disable Import.

3.Alternatively, on the GN4 context menu select Disable Import.

This allow you to save the page without importing the content to GN4. Anyway, it will disallow the box from being checked for updates.

Note: actually, it is not possible to disable import for image boxes.
