The recommended way to build the APM template library objects is to use the same articles as on the original page. Therefore, for this example, you need to create two articles.

Decide about the articles naming

The recommendation is to use the headline text as the name for the article. If the headline text is too long, shorten it as much as needed.

To create GN4 article

1.Switch to the Articles main tab in Fred, and then press CTRL+N.

2.Copy the headline text from InDesign and paste it into a Name field of the New Article dialog box.

3.If you already know which content position the article should take, then select the content position, otherwise you can do it later - in any case BEFORE the APM test run.

4.Select the folder where the test articles will reside.

5.Click OK.

To populate the article with InDesign text

1.Switch to InDesign, double-click the body text, press CTRL+A and then CTRL+C.

2.On the Article main tab, click in the body text, and then press CTRL+V.

3.Add the headline element to the article.

4.Click in the headline element, and then repeat the steps 1 through 3 for all other elements that InDesign article has.

To add images to the article

1.Locate the image files in the Links folder.

2.On the File menu of the Articles main tab, point to Upload, and then select Upload Images/ Convert to Editorial Image.

3.On the Image Upload form, select the folder - the same where you created the article.

4.Click Next, and then click Browse, and select the Links folder. Select the image to upload, and then click Finish.

5.Click the Editorial Navigator, and then on the Basic search form, select Editorial Image under Type, and the folder under Folder.

6.Locate the upload image and drag it over the article tree.

To populate the image caption with the InDesign text

1.Switch to InDesign, double-click the caption text, press CTRL+A and then CTRL+C.

2.On the Articles main tab, click in the caption text, and then press CTRL+V.

Note

Repeat this operation for any shape you are creating on a page.
