Configure edition template names

The naming convention of edition templates is configurable on the level of a title. You may want to change them if not satisfied with the system default names.

The changes affect .descName and .shortName of the edition object.

To change names, edit the related title.

Note: as the system needs to recompute the changed data, it may take longer than expected on databases with many pages. Moreover, the users may need to restart the applications to see the changed names.

To edit a title

In EdAdmin4

1.Run EdAdmin4, and then in the Editorial Objects section, click Titles.

2.Select a title in the listing, and then on the Action menu, click Edit.

In browser

1.Run Administrative Browser, and then on the Home page, click Titles.

2.Select a title in the listing, and then click Edit.

To edit the edition template descName

On the Edition names tab, enter a suitable XML in Edition template desc name.

To edit the edition template shortName

On the Edition names tab, enter a suitable XML in Edition template short name.

Note: the short name of edition template appears also in the page label on the Pages main tab, so have that in mind when changing it. If the short name of edition template is quite long, on the label there might be not enough place to display also the template page number.

To return to the default name

Simply delete all content of the field you want to restore the default value to.

About "suitable XML"

The syntax of XML you can type in the previously mentioned fields is explained in Editorial objects names. Look in the Editions paragraph for the available variables and syntax.
