Under some circumstances, it may be desirable to install multiple instances of Back4, on different servers, connecting to the same GN4 database.
Load sharing
Multiple Back4 instances can be used to split the load between multiple Back4 services.
Separate Back4 configurations
Having multiple Back4 installations on different servers means that machine specific Back4 configurations can be defined and loaded into the same GN4 database. For example, in a scenario where access permissions dictate the use of watch folders on different servers, a Back4 instance installed on each server can have its own configuration that defines server specific watch folders, workflows, etc.
IMPORTANT
Multiple Back4 instances on the same server connected to the same GN4 database is not supported.
